When a niggling chronic ache in my lower back became an acute wince-inducing pain, I tried the usual route of GP, chiropractor and physiotherapy – all to little avail. A taster session with Mel changed everything. She identified the possible cause in a way no-one else had, and after three full sessions of treatment my back was much, much better, with a reduction in pain of close to 80%. A year on, I am relatively pain free, and can always go back for a remedial session if it flares up. I had never heard of Bowen Technique previously, now I recommend it to anyone I know who suffers similar problems. I was waking up three or four times a night, and sitting still for any length of time and car journeys were impossibly uncomfortable. I was seeing a Chiropractor but found the treatment extremely invasive and painful, and was relying on prescribed anti inflammatory medication and pain relief daily. The work on this joint is ongoing. But the remarkable thing is that after one treatment of Bowen Therapy the chronic pain in my shoulders caused by severe arthritis has disappeared. I have had the pain in my shoulders for at least 15 years and almost overnight it went. I had tried my G.P., massage and very expensive orthotics, all to no avail and to say I was sceptical about Bowen then would be an understatement!<\/span><\/p>\n Mel\u2019s treatment seems almost too gentle to have any effect, but it made an immediate improvement and in a few sessions not only were my toes pain free but occasional pain in my kness and hips were gone too.<\/span><\/p>\n I can unhesitatingly recommed Mel to anyone as a skilful, realistic, honest and understanding therapist.<\/span><\/p>\n J.B. My employer carries out routine health checks on their employees and that at risk staff (asthamtics, heavy smokers etc) are monitored annually. As an asthmatic I fall into that category and have just had my annual lung function test. The results were the best they ahve been in the last four years, in every area.<\/span><\/p>\n I feel this is in no small way down to the treatment that I have received from you. The Bowen treatment that you administer has stopped the slow downward trend of my lung function test results and has made it better thn it\u2019s been in years. All I can say is thank you. They identified the source of the pain as kidney stones and I stayed at the hospital until they passed. I had no trouble with the pain for a few months, but then it came back ann this time the hospital could find no kidney stones and the source of the pain was not found. For the next two years I went back and forth to the hospital, trying numerous tests and painkillers to identify and treat the pain. None of these worked, and after two years of agonizing pain, I was eventually diagnosed with chronic regional pain syndrome. The hospital wanted to put me on heavy medication, largely reduce my school times and give me psychology to help deal with the pain.<\/span><\/p>\n Before I started this course, my Nan suggested that I gave Bowen treatment a try. From the first time I went to see Melanie, the results were instant and amazing.
